Bahri Oil

One of the six business units within Bahri, Bahri Oil is a leading provider of crude oil transportation services for the last two decades and is the exclusive provider of VLCC transportation for Saudi Aramco’s CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) sales.

With an owned fleet of 43 vessels on water, Bahri Oil is the largest VLCC owner and operator in the world. Each VLCC has the capacity to carry 2.2 million barrels with a current fleet DWT of approximately 13.9 million tonnes.

Bahri Oil has several long-term contracts with first-class charterers with volumes exceeding its owned fleet capacity. In addition, it also has a long-term Charter Ownership Agreement (COA) with South Korean refiner S-Oil to transport 3–4 cargoes per month, equivalent to 5–7 VLCCs.

Led by a team of highly qualified professionals, Bahri Oil manages and optimizes global load programs to exceed the expectations of its global client portfolio. The business unit’s superior route management, high utilization rates of its vessels, balanced charter agreements with reputable charterers, and better knowledge of the market dynamics on account of being both an owner and charterer, ensure commercial and operational flexibility and optimization resulting in greater customer and shareholder value.

Backed by the experience and expertise of its human assets, state-of-the-art physical assets, deployment of innovative big data-driven operational models, and establishment of the landmark 10-year $1.5-billion APICORP Bahri Oil Shipping Fund (ABOSF) in 2016, Bahri Oil is well positioned to grow its market share by increasing coverage of current contracted volumes and capitalizing on the untapped market volumes.
